Virga at sunset

“I saw rain falling from a cloud. It didn’t seem to be hitting the ground. I was suddenly dizzy. I think I have virga-tigo.”

The small dark cloud was forming and dissipating. Probably a good indication of turbulence.

From The Aviation Weather Handbook:

“Virga are wisps or streaks of water or ice particles falling out of a cloud, but vaporizing before reaching the Earth’s surface as precipitation.”
